Oatmeal with fruit

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup old fashioned oatmeal
  • 1 tsp. chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup dehydrated fruit
  • ¼ cup granola ( I use my homemade granola.)
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • pinch salt
  • 4 Tbl. dry milk

 Directions:

  1. Pack dry milk (1 pint bag), granola, and fruit in separate small bags.
  2. Enclose in larger bag with other ingredients.

Yield: Serves 1

At the campsite:

  1. Combine all ingredients except dry milk and granola with 1 ½ cup water in pot and soak for 5 minutes.
  2. Light stove, bring to boil, and cook for 1 minute. Stir frequently and add more water if necessary.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Let set 5 minutes.
  5. Combine dry milk with ¾ cup water.
  6. Pour desired amount of milk on granola. (Drink leftover milk.)
  7. Top with granola.
