It was great to meet you at Quiet Water Symposium in East Lansing. You asked me to post my recipe for breakfast that I’ve used on many wilderness paddles. Here it is:
Fred’s Meuseli Recipe
Almonds (finely chopped) 1 Tbsp
Sunflower Seeds 1 Tbsp
Raisins (Yellow) 1 Tbsp
(or substitute dried cherries)
Oatmeal (Old Fashion) 1 cup
Instant Non-fat Dry Milk ½ cup
Brown Sugar 2 Tbsp
Mix all ingredients in single serving
Ziplock freezer bags. Pint size works,
but Quart size is better. In field, add
one cup boiling water, mix, and soak
for two minutes. Eat directly from
bag.
No dishes to wash and only one spoon to lick clean.
