Whether consciously, or subconsciously, we prioritize towards those things we care about most. I struggle with this. If I reflect back on where I have historically chosen to spend my time and money, many of those “priorities” now seem quite frivolous. For almost two full months my wife and I have had all we NEED inside two kayaks. Everything. We start the day with those items and end the day with those items. Everything we NEED. As a matter of fact, by laying a minimalist foundation (i.e. living out of just the two kayaks, which combine for a total of < 60 sq/ft), we can NOT have anything we don’t need. Indeed, we have regretfully needed to decline some gifts offered to us along the way because there was simply no room for them. They were appreciated and wanted but not needed.
This leads me to the charity that we are supporting as a result of the attention this trip is generating. The Fortress and their need for funds is the priority. If we complete our journey successfully, yet fail to generate the donations needed for The Fortress, then our journey has failed.
Whether consciously, or subconsciously, we prioritize towards those things we care about most.
Our friend Lynne has been to The Fortress and knows first hand how badly they need the funds in order to support their work there. Please allow her to share the story with you via Her blog at http://brightlywoundtreasures.blogspot.com/2015/05/separate-boats.html?m=1
